NFL veteran Jason Kelce was more interested in celebrating his brother Travis’ latest Super Bowl championship than in hanging out with Patrick Mahomes’ brother.
Far more interested, if a viral video can be believed.

Footage of Kelce hanging out on the field following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII was all over social media.
While Travis enjoyed an emotional exchange with girlfriend Taylor Swift, brother Jason opted to remain on the periphery of the celebrations.
“I was trying to let you have your moments and everything like that,” Jason explained on the duo’s New Heights podcast on Wednesday. “There’s cameras all over the place and it feels a little odd trying to fit in.”
Instead, Jason spent a large part of the on-field celebrations with Jackson Mahomes.
A video showed Jason high-fiving Jackson, Patrick’s younger brother.
The brief exchange could have ended there.
But the on-field scene appeared to get awkward from afar, with Jackson hanging around and hanging around, potentially trying to soak in Jason’s undeniable star power.
When other familiar faces appeared, Jason warmly engaged with them.
Jackson remained lurking in the background, leading NFL and Chiefs fans to say the same thing.

“That guy is trying too hard,” said one fan on X, formerly Twitter.
A second added: “He kept patting him on the back to let go. Tried several times to move and talk to others and that dude just kept in coming back.”
“Yeah the multiple pats on the back is a signal to let go,” said another.
“I thought the tall guy was going to go in for a group hug when Jason hugged the lady,” a second fan posted.
“I need to know if they even attempted talking to him after meeting up with that girl or if that was just like the last straw, because like it’s painful to watch yet SO deserved,” a third fan said.
Jason eventually shook off Jackson’s unrequited overtures and made his to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl after party where he was filmed enjoying performances from Post Malone and DJ Marshmello.
Kelce was seen in many videos dancing alongside Marshmello wearing a wrestling mask.
The mask was not Jason Kelce’s only notable moments that night. In a clip shared on X that has since gone viral, Jason is seen near Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and he appears to walk directly toward a plant and slightly stumble, making fans wonder if he fell.
Patrick has often run afoul of NFL fans, with many believing that he’s tried to use Patrick’s star power for his own advantage.
Jackson’s problems reached a much more serious level in 2023 when he was arrested on charges of aggravated sexual battery.
In January, prosecutors dismissed three felony charges related to the accusations against Jackson.
He previously apologized for recording a Tik Tok video while dancing near a newly retired number for former Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor, who was killed by a home intruder.
In 2021, Patrick publicly addressed his brother’s controversial actions, which caught the public’s eye after Jackson was seen pouring water on Baltimore fans following a Chiefs loss.
